Virtuix is using recent U.S. Air Force and Marine Corps work to position full-body VR around active defence rehearsal, with soldiers moving through virtual terrain, practising infantry drills and reviewing performance before live training or operational use.
The company will present at three investor events this month, including the Maxim Group Defense Tech Conference on June 25. Its fireside chat there will include Joseph Lomangino, Project Team Lead at the U.S. Marine Corps Training and Education Command.
Virtuix’s recent defence work moves VR training toward physical rehearsal, with soldiers walking, turning, crouching, reacting and practising movement inside simulated environments.
Movement Turns VR Into Mission Rehearsal
Virtuix’s Omni One treadmills are designed to let users move in 360 degrees inside virtual environments. In defence training, physical movement changes the value of the simulation because infantry work depends on positioning, spacing, communication and reaction under pressure.
The system includes four Omni One treadmills, representative weapons, a trainer workstation and after-action review. Instructors can run fire-team drills, observe how soldiers move together, review decisions and adjust training around recorded performance.

Headset-only training places a soldier inside a scenario, but full-body VR adds movement, coordination and physical rehearsal to the session.
Terrain Training Adds A Mission Planning Layer
Virtuix’s U.S. Air Force work moves the company closer to mission planning.
The company was selected for Phase I funding under the AFWERX SBIR programme to advance its Virtual Terrain Walk platform, which combines Omni treadmills, immersive XR environments, spatial computing and AI-driven terrain reconstruction.
Virtuix says the platform is designed to let warfighters physically move through geo-specific virtual environments for collaborative mission planning, terrain familiarity and tactical decision-making.
Terrain-linked rehearsal gives defence teams a more specific reason to assess VR. A generic simulation may help with procedure. A virtual version of a mission environment can support route planning, movement rehearsal and tactical decisions before a team reaches the live setting.
Enterprise XR Still Has To Survive The Field
Virtuix is working in defence simulation, but the buying pressure is familiar across enterprise XR. The system has to keep helping when the environment is awkward, time is limited and the user is doing real work.
TeamViewer and Microsoft are tackling that pressure from the AR support side, with AI video enhancement aimed at improving remote assistance feeds when frontline workers face weak or unstable mobile connections.
Virtuix is tackling the training version: movement, terrain, instructor control and review. Defence users need VR to support the drill, the trainer and the team, as opposed to just the person inside the headset.
It means scenario creation, reliability, space, maintenance, trainer tools, data capture and support should all sit inside the buying decision. Immersion helps only if the system fits the work around it.
Assessment Comes Before Wider Deployment
Virtuix’s defence work is still early.
The Air Force project is Phase I SBIR funding, while the Marine Corps system is an operational assessment through TECOM and KBR. Wider adoption will depend on results, funding routes, procurement decisions and how well the system fits existing military training structures.
Buyers will want clear answers on how quickly terrain can be created, how accurately locations are represented, how teams are tracked, how review tools work and how much support the hardware needs during regular use.
Defence teams assess training systems when they can help people prepare for dangerous work with better rehearsal, lower risk and less dependence on live training environments.
Virtuix now has a focused claim to prove: full-body VR can support active, mission-specific preparation inside defence training and planning workflows.
