AWE USA 2026 is already giving enterprise buyers a useful list to scan before Long Beach. The Auggie Awards finalists and Startup Pitch contenders include XR work across training, enterprise infrastructure, healthcare, smart glasses, spatial AI, simulation and industrial operations.
The theme of this year’s AWE is “I, Spatial” (and yes – that’s a reference to I, Robot!), and there is a clear trend amongst the award nominees around AI and XR harmony, and practical use cases for potential industry adopters and consumers alike.
Which Categories Should Enterprise Buyers Look Out For?
AWE’s Best Enterprise Solution shortlist includes several names that fit the practical deployment lane:
- Fyware Hub Real-Time XR Training Supervision
- VIROO the XR Infrastructure Platform, from Virtualware
- MockThru, Southwest Airlines’ multi-user mixed reality prototyping tool
- echo3D
- FabStation, from Eterio Realities
- SPIDER, GRID RASTER’s AI-powered spatial intelligence platform for industrial operations
The Best Education & Training Solution category also leans into applied XR:
- VR Immersive Experience of Benshan Fifth Tunnel in Taiwan, from National Taichung University of Science and Technology
- Chemical Incident & Terror Response in XR, from the National Institute of Chemical Safety
- NucleusXR
- Dance Guru, from Hypercreative
- Cabinet of Curiosities, from Mechanical Whispers
- Dementia & Empathy Training, from Rendever
The developer and tooling categories add more infrastructure around that. Finalists include Mattercraft from Zappar, GroKit Core from 3lbXR, VIROO Studio from Virtualware, MultiSet AI and AR Lens Studio from Snap.
These are probably the most interesting sections for enterprise decision makers. AWE has art, film, games and consumer XR, but a decent chunk of the awards list includes companies working on training supervision, mixed reality prototyping, industrial spatial intelligence, chemical incident response, healthcare training, developer tools and XR infrastructure.
The Startup Pitch Finalists
AWE has also published the Startup Pitch Competition finalists. Selected AR and VR startups will pitch in front of XR investors on 16 June, with the winner named Startup to Watch during the Auggie Awards ceremony on 17 June.
Visual Box: AWE Startup Pitch Finalists
- MetaNeural Inc.: AI-powered immersive simulation for high-risk industries and critical infrastructure
- Biel Glasses: AI and XR smart glasses for people with low vision
- Drivers Of Tomorrow: XR training for commercial drivers
- Prolo Ring / CG Technology Group: ring-based input hardware for PCs, phones, tablets and AI glasses
- Provision Surgical: AR surgical navigation for orthopaedic procedures
- Farclip: spatial AI for live 3D environments, simulation, robotics and digital twins
- CognifiSense: XR pain treatment
- Tynt Technologies: dynamic light-control film for smart eyewear and glass
- Immergo Labs: XR movement care and physical therapy
- AVRwell: XR occupational therapy and rehabilitation
The startup list adds younger companies to the same practical XR mix: simulation, low-vision smart glasses, driver training, surgical navigation, rehab, input hardware, smart eyewear components and spatial AI.
It also gives buyers and vendors a quick ‘ones to watch’ list before Long Beach. These ambitious firms could well be some of the tech leaders of the future in the enterprise XR space.
Names To Track for Industry Decision Makers
The B2B pattern in the AWE nominations is hard to miss.
XR firms are putting serious effort into training, healthcare, industrial operations, infrastructure, simulation, accessibility, input and spatial AI. Those are the areas where enterprise buyers will ask questions like: does it save time, reduce risk, improve training, support workers, fit workflows, integrate with existing systems and survive beyond a pilot?
Google has just put Android XR, Gemini and Project Aura back into the market conversation. AWE now gets to show what the wider XR ecosystem is building around the momentum generated by the tech giants. Watch this space, it’s an exciting time for XR.
